to sort of go off on a tangent about that post of bossuet being the token poc member, i have to just add that like one of my issues with modern interpretations of les mis across the fanworks is that eventhough white (& blond) enjolras is the most recognizable element of the fandom, the effort to increase diversity is (good intentioned but a little) problematic.

i.e, having grantaire as a poc who then spends the whole time venerating and idealizing white enjolras’ beauty. like i know the intention isn’t white superiority nor is it classist in nature but like?? you can do so much better fandom??? you’re so socially aware iDGI. maybe i am reading too much into it but as a poc in this fandom my experience with enjolras has been v. frustrating.
