’ So ignorance has nothing to do with education? ‘

An other frown disgraced her young features.           She sucked her
lower lip between her teeth in thought.          If it was not a matter of
education but rather a state of mind,           Éponine considered the
whole matter genuinely depressing.   Brown eyes looked up to the
young man again and decided to leave it for whatever it was.

                                     ’ Of course. In which case wouldn’t I? ‘

The frown was replaced with a smile.     They were her friends and
she trusted them nonetheless — it was in near blind faith that she
followed them, in the fragile hope at least they had some sense of
                                                  what they were doing.

He sees her frown, tries to paint
a picture of the world in the broadest
strokes he can because there are so
many things he wants to talk about but
if all he does is talk, when will he do?

                  “Think indoctrination. It’s the most
oppressive form of education there is
             and        that       has        to         stop.”

A small twist of the lips, not quite a
smile but an acknowledgement as he
rolls his shoulders and nods. “Good.”
Another pause. His cup is empty and
              Enjolras would like a sandwich

                   A surreptitious glance towards her.
He tries to be casual when he says,
“I‘m going to grab a refill, do you
                                    want anything?”
