Funny how Enjolras, with all his power of words
and his journalism career behind him, was so much
better without when it came to Grantaire. Words just
didn’t work, not the way they were supposed to.

Well, it is when your dead. Who’d be pulling your ass
out of the fire if not for me, yeah? He snorts, flicking
ash out the window. “Art class my ass.

( Don’t worry, Enjolras, you’re not the only
one who failed art class. Something about
                                                                ignoring the curriculum.’ )

Grantaire was probably the only one among them who
preferred car rides to trains. There was something about
controlling the journey he preferred. You could go at your
own pace, especially if you gave traffic laws the finger nine
times out of ten. Trains were predictable. There was always
that nagging feeling that one day someone would be waiting
for them when they got off.

Funny is one word for it. Ask
the rest of the ABC and they’d
share a treasure trove of words
that don’t mean funny. Not even
        close.

“That was one time and you didn’t
have to pull me, I could walk just fine.”

                It’s true. He walked–ran afterwards
like it was no big deal. Might’ve just
                been adrenaline though. Tough call.

             ( Another glance over, the
same amused QUIRK of the lips. )

"Is that scorn for the education system?
Is learning not of paramount importance?“

         Grantaire’s not the ONLY one
who can goad people. It’s a
new sport for Enjolras.                       ( Thanks. )

         But hey– what a generalization.
Car rides are useful when you’re a bit
too much of a horror story for public
transport, they’re all learning. But cars
are also good for off the road traveling,
a necessity now as they approach the
       private airfield.
